By now, most who have heard about feng shui know that feng shui literally means wind & water, the natural forces that shape the land that nurtures us. Often, one’s first exposure to the concept of feng shui is filled with mystery and curiosity. Mystical forces or belief systems seem to be at their core of understanding. After many years of study and practice, it is clear that the principles animating feng shui are nothing less than the standard laws of physics and quantum physics.
Today feng shui is used to design entire developments or communities and cities. It originated in Asia some 6000 years ago by observant farmers who were searching the land for the most fertile soils that could raise enough crops to feed the masses. The evolution from this simple beginning of the science in the West that we call geomancy to today’s extensive use of feng shui in community planning is based on thousands of years of practice, research and observation of natural phenomenon.
